Calculator FAQ
Frequently asked questions about the free large online calculators at Internet-Calculator.com.
General
Are the calculators free to use?
Yes, completely free. The calculators are supported by ads, so there is no subscription, no account, and no payment required. Just open the page and start calculating.
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing to download, install, or update. It works in any modern browser on any device.
Does the calculator work on mobile?
Yes. The calculator works on mobile phones and tablets as well as desktop and laptop computers. On mobile, tap the calculator buttons as normal. On desktop, use a mouse or your keyboard.
Display & Size
Can I make the calculator larger?
Yes. The calculator resizes automatically to fill your browser window. Simply resize your browser window to make the calculator larger or smaller. On desktop, expand the window to full screen for the largest display.
Does the calculator have a large display?
Yes. The calculator has a large 12-digit display that scales with your window size. The display also shows your running calculation above the main number — for example, 3,500 × 3 = — so you always see the full equation as you enter it.
History
Does the calculator save my calculation history?
Yes. The calculator automatically stores your last 100 calculations in history. Open the History panel from the hamburger menu to see them. If the Save Work setting is enabled, your history is saved even after you close the browser. You can also click on the calculation above the display to jump to the history panel.
Can I reuse a past calculation?
Yes — this is one of the most useful features. Open the History panel and click any past calculation to load it back into the calculator. You can then continue from that point, or build on the result.
How many calculations does the history store?
The history stores your last 100 calculations. Older calculations roll off automatically as new ones are added.
Memory
How do I use the memory functions?
The calculator has four memory buttons — M+, M−, MR, and MC. M+ adds the current display value to memory. M− subtracts it from memory. MR recalls the memory value to the display. MC clears the memory. Keyboard shortcuts: A for M+, S for M−, R for MR, and C for MC.
How do I clear the calculator memory?
Press the MC button (Memory Clear) to clear the stored memory value. The keyboard shortcut is the C key. The current memory value is shown in the display area — when memory is cleared it disappears.
Settings & Work
Does the calculator save my work when I close it?
Yes, if the Save Work setting is enabled. With Save Work on, your current calculation, history, memory, and settings are all saved when you close the browser. When you reopen the calculator it picks up exactly where you left off — even mid-calculation. For example, enter 2 + 3 +, close the browser, reopen, press 4 =, and you get 9.
Can I use the keyboard with the calculator?
Yes. The calculator supports full keyboard input. Use the number keys for digits, + − * / for operators, Enter or = for equals, Escape for All Clear, and Delete for Clear Entry. When you press a key the corresponding calculator button highlights so you always know what was entered. See the Shortcuts panel in the menu for the full list.
Can I change the calculator's number format?
Yes. Open Settings from the hamburger menu to adjust number formatting. Options include digit grouping (1,000,000 or 1.000.000 or 1 000 000), decimal symbol (period or comma), negative number display (−1 or accounting-style parentheses), and fixed or floating point display.
Tips
How do I get back to the calculator from the menu?
Two ways — press the Escape (ESC) key, or click the calculator icon to the left of the hamburger menu icon. Either one returns you to the calculator instantly.
How do I show negative numbers in accounting format?
Open Settings from the hamburger menu and change the Negative Number option to (1) instead of −1. This displays negative numbers using parentheses — for example, −50 becomes (50) — which is standard accounting and bookkeeping format.
Is there a faster way to get to the History panel?
Yes. Click on the calculation above the display to jump immediately to the History panel.
